The booking fee and the minimum spend are separate. The fee is paid online when you request your date and holds it; it includes VAT, and it's refunded in full if we can't host you. The minimum spend is settled with the team on the night, and everything your guests drink at the bar counts towards it.
Both nights run 6pm till 1am. Timings for setting up and packing down are agreed with the team.

01 — The bar
The BCC Bar
Up to 60 standing, around 30 seated
The timber bar, the stools, the banquettes, and the copper still behind the counter. This is where people end up. The bar team makes everything in front of you, and the rum, gin and vodka in your glass came off that still.

02 — The dance floor
The Old Black Bar
Up to 60
An open floor with windows onto Coldharbour Lane, space for a DJ and a crowd. Nothing is fixed, so bring a plan or let it fill up. We can set seating up here if you want it.

What's included
- The rooms, private to you: both on Thursdays and Saturdays, the Old Black Bar on Fridays.
- The bar team, all night, making cocktails on our own rum, gin and vodka in front of your guests.
- A cocktail list built on our own spirits, agreed with you beforehand.
- Planning with us before the night: timings, the door, the music.
- A year's membership to BCC Bar for the person who books.
Optional, arranged with the team
- A rum tasting for the group, hosted at the bar, arranged with the team.
- A drinks package or a bar tab, if you'd rather not settle on the night.
- Food. It isn't part of the hire; we're inside Brixton Village, surrounded by kitchens, so raise it when we plan and we'll find the route.
- Your DJ or live act. The space and the sound are here; the artist is yours.
None of these is included automatically. Ask when we plan and we'll price it.
Christmas 2026
Christmas at the distillery.
Bring your team to Brixton Village for cocktails made with our own spirits, conversation at the bar and room to dance in the Old Black Bar.

- Fridays
- The Old Black Bar is private to your party, for up to 60 guests. The BCC Bar stays open to members and is shared.
Same terms as the rest of the year. A rum tasting for the group can be added, and the hire comes with a year's membership for whoever books.

How does paying work?

Two separate amounts. The booking fee is paid online when you request your date and holds it; it includes VAT. The minimum drinks spend is settled with the team on the night, and everything your guests buy at the bar counts towards it. There's no drinks package unless you ask for one.
What if plans change, or you can't host us?

If we can't host you on the date you've requested, the booking fee is refunded in full. Once we've confirmed, the fee holds the venue for you and isn't refundable; if your plans shift, talk to us early and we'll do what we can on moving the date.
What time does the night run?

Evenings, 6pm till 1am. Timings for your night, and any time you need to set up or pack down, are agreed with the team when we plan.
How many guests can we have?

Up to 80 on Thursdays and Saturdays, when you have both rooms; either room holds up to 60, so guests move between the two through the night. On Fridays the Old Black Bar is yours, up to 60, and the BCC Bar is shared with members. Smaller groups are welcome; the minimum spend is the same. More than 80? Ask.
What does the membership cover?

The person who books gets a year of BCC Bar membership: Friday nights at the bar with up to three guests, member rates on bottles, tastings and events, and first access to each batch of the rum. The full list is on the bar page.
Can we bring a DJ or live act?

Yes. DJs set up in the Old Black Bar, an open floor made for exactly this. Tell us the artist and their tech rider when we plan; we'll flag anything we need to sort in advance.
Is there step-free access?

No, sorry. The venue is reached through Impact Brixton in Brixton Village and there are stairs on the way in and up to the first floor. Tell us about any access needs when we plan and we'll be straight with you about what's possible.
Can we hire on another day?

Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are bookable online. For another day, WhatsApp us with what you're aiming for and we'll be honest about what's possible.
The still will be running when your guests walk in.
