In Brixton

In Her Words

A taste of my story

“For this collaboration, I wanted to create a flavour that felt like me — something rooted in my Nigerian heritage, but also reflective of the energy and cultural mix of Brixton.

Scotch bonnet has always been part of the food I grew up with and the food I still love today. I like heat, I like flavour, and I like food with personality. For me, that fire represents so much more than spice. It reminds me of the heat of the African land, the fieriness of my Igbo heritage, and the energy of growing up in Lagos — a city full of movement, hustle, colour and life.

Then comes the pineapple: sweet, vibrant and tropical. That sweetness represents the love underneath it all — my love for Nigeria, for Africa, for family, culture and the memories that have shaped who I am.

Bringing those two flavours together felt completely natural: fire and sweetness, strength and warmth, heritage and celebration.

And Brixton is the perfect place for those worlds to meet. It has that same energy — bold, diverse, multicultural, constantly moving, with so many cultures and stories living side by side.

So this Scotch Bonnet & Pineapple Rum is really a taste of my story: Nigeria, Lagos, my Igbo roots and Brixton, all brought together in one bottle.

A little fire. A little sweetness.
A whole lot of culture.”

— Caroline Chinakwe

The Recipe

Sweet. Heat. Spice.

Pineapple

Sweet, vibrant and tropical. The love underneath it all — for Nigeria, for family, for the memories that shaped her.

Scotch Bonnet

The fire of the food Caroline grew up on. The heat of the land, the energy of Lagos, the fieriness of her Igbo roots.

Pimento

Allspice to some. Warm, clove-dark and rounded — the thread that ties the fire to the sweetness.
